BOULDER, CO – Sea to Summit, manufacturer of adventure travel equipment and lightweight backpacking gear, debuts their new fall 2013 collection which includes an ultra light addition to their sleeping bag range. Sea to Summit redefines the term ultra-light with the Spark SpI that stuffs down to the size of a grapefruit and has amazing warmth to weight ratio. But meticulous engineering doesn’t always mean ‘big’ – sometimes the ‘small’ things make all the difference. Sea to Summit also introduces Field Repair Buckles, a patent pending design allowing adventurers to repair broken buckles in the field using only a screwdriver.

Spark SpI (available August 2013; MSRP: $269 – $289)
Weighing a mere 12.3 ounces and packing down to the size of a grapefruit, the new Spark SpI sleeping bag from Sea to Summit sets the bar for minimalist sleeping bags. The Spark is filled with the amazing moisture repelling Ultra-Dry Down™ and has a micro-weight 10D Pertex Quantum® shell fabric and a 15D nylon soft touch lining. The EN Lower Limit rating of 46 degrees makes it ideal for through-hikers, adventure racers, and anyone wanting to travel light and fast. It comes with a storage cube, Ultra-Sil™ micro compression sack and cotton laundry bag complete with care instructions.

Traveller TrI (available August 2013; MSRP: $189 – $209)
The new Traveller sleeping bag boasts the same high-quality construction and technical features that you expect from Sea to Summit sleeping bags but with a larger semi-rectangular cut. This light and comfortable bag is filled with 750+ loft Ultra-Dry DownTM, weighs just 13.7 ounces and has an EN temperature rating of 50 degrees. The zipper adds versatility, allowing it to be used as a blanket or to be zipped together with another Traveller for extra room. The drawcord foot and collar can be closed to seal in heat and create a mummy shaped bag. It is the ideal bag for traveling, cycle touring, ultra-light hiking and adventure racing. It comes with a storage cube, Ultra-Sil™ compression sack and cotton laundry bag complete with care instructions.

Flow 35L DryPack (available August 2013; MSRP: $199)
Sea to Summit has added a 35 Liter option with a removable padded hip belt – The Flow – to their DryPack line which already includes the Carve (24 Liter) and Rapid (26 Liter). Look no further for an all-around high performance waterproof daypack. The TPU laminated 420D nylon and fully seam sealed construction make these packs ideal for climbing, canyoneering, mountain biking, commuting, hiking, fishing and lightweight travel.

NEW Field Repair Buckles (available May 2013; MSRP $3.95 – $5.50)

There are two styles of side release buckles and a ladder lock version, all offered in two widths: 3⁄4” (20mm) and 1” (25mm). Several Sea to Summit dry bags feature Field Repair Buckles: the Stopper Dry Bags, Clear Stopper Dry Bags and Hydraulic Dry Bags.
