Specialty Retailers Sign Up for GoLite® Footwear

Stratham, NH (August 7, 2006) – Inspired by sky running and built for the demanding nature of the toughest trails, the new GoLite® footwear line is clearing another formidable obstacle: retail sell-in.

The new footwear line will make its debut at the Summer Outdoor Retailer Show, August 10-13, but key dealers who have had a sneak preview are already placing orders, including:

•Bent Gate – Golden, CO
•Trailblazer – Guilford, New Haven, and Uncasville, CT
•RunTex – Austin, TX

Designing and developing the new GoLite® footwear has been a two-year project. Rather than simply beefing up a road-running shoe or paring down a hiking boot, the incubation team from the Timberland Invention Factory set out to create a truly trail-specific line. The result is an extremely stable trail running shoe, very light weight at 10.9 oz, with a seamless one-piece upper and a revolutionary suspension system that evens out the plane and creates a more consistent level ride.

Retailers have immediately reacted to the footwear’s performance benefits and breakthrough technology. “After years in development, it’s great to see the retailers’ enthusiastic response,” says Bill Dodge, General Manager for GoLite Footwear. “We know this is break-through technology and to have that immediately reinforced by key buyers provides additional validation and great momentum going into OR.”

In May 2006, Timberland acquired certain assets of GoLite LLC. GoLite Footwear will be managed out of Stratham, New Hampshire while GoLite® apparel, equipment and accessories will continue to be led by GoLite founders Demetri and Kimberly Couponas, operating as an independent company out of their headquarters in Boulder, Colorado.
