SPRI Products Again Wins Best-Selling Accessory Title

Company also volunteers in local community
before Health & Fitness Business Expo

Libertyville, Ill. – August 10, 2009 – SPRI Products, a GAIAM company and a leading distributor of rubberized resistance products and fitness accessories, was named the top-selling brand of fitness accessories for the fifth consecutive year in the 2009 Specialty News (SNEWS®) Fitness Retailer Survey.
“The SPRI team is thrilled to be the leading choice for accessories again this year,” said Pat Miles, director of retail sales at SPRI. “Our goal is to innovate to meet the needs of our retail partners, exercisers and fitness professionals, and continue to earn their commitment to our products and services.”
As it has in past years, SPRI clearly dominated the other brands named, garnering more than double the votes of the second, third and fourth place companies in this highly competitive category that includes stability balls, resistance tubing, exercise mats, medicine balls and weight attachments. In all, respondents listed a stunning 48 brand names.
Surveyors noted: “SPRI’s domination has not changed, and, in fact, the company has gained more votes and points over last year. “
SNEWS, a weekly trade publication covering the fitness and outdoor industries, surveys retailers nationwide, ranging from small, single shops to large chains, to assess the overall state of the fitness industry from the perspective of salespeople. Results are released each year in conjunction with the start of the annual Health & Fitness Business Expo in Denver.

SPRI Gives Back
The day before the opening of the 2009 Health & Fitness Business show, three SPRI employees hurried to assemble the company’s exhibit booth so they could participate in a volunteer effort arranged by show organizers at a local Boys & Girls Club. There, a team of manufacturers, retailers, SNEWS staffers and show representatives spent hours cleaning and organizing the gym, art room, library, technology room and lounge to prepare the facility for fall programs.
SPRI, along with Colorado Home Fitness, also donated assorted accessories to the William E. Cope branch of the Boys & Girls Club to encourage kids to exercise.
“With the tight economy putting a crimp on the industry, SNEWS was impressed that SPRI nevertheless made an effort to free up its three staff members on-site to lend their energy and enthusiasm to help the Denver Boys & Girls Clubs,” noted Therese Iknoian, editor-in-chief of SNEWS, which helped organize the event. “Three cheers to SPRI for its commitment.“
