IRVINE, Calif. (Jan. 4, 2011)—Fitness industry powerhouses Star Trac, leading developer of advanced fitness equipment and Mad Dogg Athletics, the creators of the indoor cycling category and a comprehensive line of products under the Spinning®Family of Trademarks, today announced that they will renew a 10-year agreement to collectively market and distribute Spinner® bikes and Spinning® programming and education worldwide. Star Trac will remain the exclusive commercial equipment provider for the Spinner line of bikes.
The renewal of this agreement follows a successful ten-year relationship between Mad Dogg Athletics and Star Trac and the recent acquisition of Star Trac by Michael Bruno, a highly-respected fitness industry veteran for over 20 years. The renewal of the agreement with Mad Dogg is a key component of Bruno’s reorganization plan for Star Trac which focuses on company continuity and aggressive streamlining. The acquisition has already strengthened the company’s ability to provide the product innovation, quality, reliability and customer service that have been the Star Trac brand legacy since 1988.
Since the start of their partnership in 2002, the two companies have surpassed fitness industry milestones that include selling over 300,000 Spinner® bikes to over 30,000 Official Spinning® Facilities worldwide, training over 200,000 certified Spinning® instructors and developing the newest Spinning® innovations such as the groundbreaking eSpinner®.
