Washington, D.C. — Fit3 signs Letter of Intent to open second DC location this fall. Fit3 Superstores for fitness, wellness and health confirms plans to add additional DC locations based on the success of its Tyson’s Corner store which opened last fall.

At 21,000 square feet, FIT3’s unique value proposition offers the largest selection of healthy, lifestyle products and integrated categories all under one roof. The total fitness lifestyle store will carry top name brand fitness equipment and accessories, including ellipticals, treadmills, vibration equipment, stationary bikes and weights. It will also carry specialty products, clothing and footwear for yoga, boxing, MMA and running. FIT3 features an in-store yoga studio with free daily classes and martial arts/boxing ring. To ensure the best possible fit in exercise and running footwear FIT3 offers an exclusive 3D Gait Program that provides computerized analysis for the perfect footwear fit, as well as a simulated running track. To complete the circle of wellness, FIT3 will also provide a complete line of vitamin and nutrition supplements.

FIT3 is the brainchild of veteran retail guru Jack Steckel. Jack’s expertise spans an illustrious career as partner in the investment banking firm, Capital Canada Limited, co-founding partner of Golf Town with Stephen Bebis, as well as a member of the founding team of Hockey Life, based in Canada. “FIT3 is more than a store,” says Steckel. “It’s a destination to explore, experiment and engage in a total fitness lifestyle. It’s interactive and exciting and unlike any other retail experience out there”.

Former Bass Pro President, Hal Smith, has partnered with Steckel, and is FIT3’s CEO. “We are thrilled to provide the most exciting health and fitness offering anywhere in the country,” says Smith. “Our knowledgeable and passionate experts, coupled with the leading brands in every category, allow for customers to reach any goal they may have for personal fitness, health, and wellness.”

Adds CEO Hal Smith, “The tremendous customer response to our first DC location has caused us to move our expansion plans ahead faster than we had anticipated and this second location is only the first of an additional 5 locations that we believe Fit3 can open in the greater Washington market. Our free classes on various forms of fitness improvement together with our daily yoga classes and products such as Alkaline and Coconut Water as well as trained staff in running, yoga, and exercise have been very well received by the Washington health and fitness community.”

Fit3’s selection of brands for all our categories is exceptional including Life Fitness, FreeMotion, Nike, Asics, Brooks, New Balance, Hard Tail Forever, Zobha, TwinLab, Hammer Nutrition, Everlast, Garmin and basically the best offerings in each category forming a major reason for our success. The price guarantee program and continuous special offerings make Fit3 the store to visit for Washingtonian’s fitness, yoga, nutrition and running shoe selection.

Smith concludes, “I am even more excited about the potential for Fit3 to take off across the country. With the growing trends in whole health and everyone’s keen interest in fitness, there is no better time for this total fitness lifestyle concept to not only grow in DC but to embrace North America.
