Sterling Rope Company’s Goddesses on the Rocks Weekend Teams With HERA Women’s Cancer Foundation
(May 2008 — Carbondale, CO) The New England-based rope manufacturer, Sterling Rope Company, tied in with the HERA Women’s Cancer Foundation April 19-20 at Sterling’s 2nd annual Goddesses on the Rocks climbing weekend. In addition to raising nearly $700 during the weekend, the event—a social and learning climbing event series—set the stage for a HERA board member speaker to spread awareness for ovarian cancer.
Marci Reardon, HERA Board Member, was also on hand to answer questions and give information on ovarian cancer signs and symptoms, and to speak on behalf of the HERA Foundation. “The event was a great success,†says Sonya Burgess, Event Coordinator, “we feel it was an easy way for Sterling to show it’s support for the HERA Foundation, and give the organization a forum to speak on awareness.â€
The event weekend hosted a variety of clinics including special events with Peak Rescue Institute, and a special clinic taught by author of The Rock Warrior’s Way, Arno Ilgner.
