PARK CITY, Utah (April 18, 2012) – Battling through cramps and exhaustion during the final miles of your ultra-marathon; holding the King Pigeon Pose like it’s downward dog; nailing the crux on the climbing route you’ve been working for weeks — these are the triumphs that make you who you are. Each of these moments (and others like them) demands comfortable, well-crafted apparel to keep you conquering your goals.
New for spring 2012, Stoic, the premium private label brand of Backcountry.com, introduces its new women’s-specific active lifestyle apparel line: the Thrive Collection. This collection is perfect for women who exemplify feminine strength in a way that only others like them can understand. They know their bodies; they use them; they sweat like a glass of ice tea in Louisiana in the summertime; they don’t know the word quit. The Stoic Thrive Collection is for the core among us who do all this, and who never, ever settle for apparel that doesn’t suit their sport and doesn’t fit exactly like it was made just for them.
“The women who sweat hard, push themselves physically, take on any challenge and insist on wearing nothing less than the best active apparel to help them succeed — we made the Thrive Collection just for them,” said Kristen Nielsen, Stoic apparel designer. “Wearing the Thrive Collection instills motivation. You want to be comfortable when you’re out there and this new line lets you do that.”
Yoga, running, biking, hiking, working out at the gym — the versatile Thrive Collection is made to stand up to all the sweat, dirt, grime, and pain thrown its way. Featuring a flexible, athletic, curve-friendly fit made with technical fabrics, the entire collection of women’s performance wear is tough and built to persevere. The new apparel line is super versatile and excels across a range of activities. The Stoic Thrive Collection will become your go-to for everything active.
“We focused on fit, comfort, and quality when we designed the Thrive Collection. Women who choose Thrive are choosing beautiful gear that really works for their lifestyle,” said Nielsen, “and it’s very reasonably priced.”
Featuring a tight, knicker, pant, capri, short, skort, tee, tank, jacket, and vest, the Thrive Collection is premium active wear for women who kick serious a** on a regular basis, and who look good while doing it.
The Thrive Collection includes:
Spark Tight ($55) and Lucent Knicker ($45) – For colder or drippy weather and early mornings, the Thrive Tight keeps you going. Nylon supplex and a healthy bit of spandex are used for a snug but not constricting fit. Both are dry to the touch and are quick to dry, and have a matte finish. Both feature an athletic fit with a waistband that stays in place and small details like a security pocket and a center back pocket for an mp3 player.
Aurora Pant ($55) and Glow Capri ($50) – With a more relaxed fit than the Tight and Knicker, the Stoic Thrive Pant and Capri are made to live in. They’re great for going to and from the gym, for yoga and studio workouts, and even traveling. The Pant and Capri are built with performance in mind and have a look that’s simple.
Laser Shorts ($39) and Radiant Skort ($45) – The shorts are a lightweight option, long on performance. Fast drying and durable materials allow stretch and freedom of movement. You may forget you have them on. The Skort is whimsy with attitude. It’s cute and it’s made for the long trail. Stretch woven polyester materials with comfortable lining and power waistband hold them close to the body, and chaffing is never a problem.
Vivid Tech Tee ($49) and Ember Tank ($39) – The engineered knitted-tech Tee is all you want in a trail running tee. No seams means no chaffe. Its technical materials are quick drying, breathable, and wicking, and a plethora of mesh and venting panels knitted into the shirt give you air. There’s a sleeveless version too for extra hot days.
Luminous Jacket ($69) and Vest ($59) – Made from a wispy 20D nylon fabric and weighing in at a sparse 4 oz., the Luminous Jacket may not only save you from hypothermia, but will also let you enjoy runs in the rain. Made of a breathable material with a DWR that sheds rain, it has a few features you will find indispensable: a hood, hand-warmer pockets, and a gathering elastic that holds in place and gives a hint of style. Go with the Vest if you’re looking for a lighter garment that will still keep the core warm. Run long, look good.
