Stormy Kromer presents check to Upper Peninsula Honor Flight

Ironwood, MI, (April 11, 2016) — Stormy Kromer, makers of functional headwear born in the wilds of the northern Midwest, presented a check in the amount of $3,834 to the Upper Peninsula Honor Flight. The check represents a portion of sales of a limited edition cap the company developed in honor of the organization and sold on its website beginning in March.
“The Upper Peninsula Honor Flight provides an amazing service and along with our customers we hope these funds will give more vets the opportunity to visit our Capital,” said Gina Thorsen, Stormy Kromer president.
The Upper Peninsula Honor Flight, part of the national Honor Flight system, is a non-profit organization created solely to honor America’s veterans for all their sacrifices. The program transports veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit and reflect at their memorials at no cost to the veterans.
“Most of the vets who take the Honor Flight would not otherwise have the opportunity to do so,” said Scott Knauf, president of the Upper Peninsula Honor Flight. “We are very grateful to Stormy Kromer to help us provide our vets with the opportunity to experience the memorials build in their honor.”
To date the U.P. Honor Flight has transported nearly 800 veterans to Washington, D.C. The next U.P. Honor Flight is scheduled for May 25.
