Strafe Outerwear, a technical apparel brand motivated by living life in the mountains, debuts its 2018/19 line at the Outdoor Retailer Snow Show in Denver, January 25-28. Featuring Recon, a proprietary, new waterproof/breathable stretch fabric, and new silhouettes including midlayer anoraks for men and women, the collection draws inspiration from Strafe’s home in the Elk Mountains, the Aspen Highlands Ski Area and modern mountain culture.
“Highlighted by a new selection of midlayers, our 2018/19 line caters to the technical and stylistic demands of core skiers and snowboarders, whether they are summiting high backcountry peaks, lapping the lifts at their local resorts or enjoying an aprés session after a long day in the mountains,” says Pia Halloran, head of design and development at Strafe. “With the addition of the Deception and Sunnyside midlayers, the new collection offers our most cohesive and colorful offering to date.”
The Deception and Sunnyside, anorak midlayers for men and women, respectively, deliver the ultimate crossover in style and function. Both pieces feature Strafe’s AIR Recon two-way stretch face fabric in the body and 4-way stretch fabric in the hood, side panels and lower sleeves for comfort and maneuverability. Each offered in four colorways, Deception and Sunnyside incorporate Polartec Alpha insulation and a kangaroo pouch front pocket.
The award-winning Ozone and Eden jackets for men and women, respectively, see materials and colorway updates for 2018/19, with the addition of Polartec’s new Alpha Direct insulation for next-to-skin comfort in a light and fast-drying package. Ozone and Eden also utilize Polartec’s regarded NeoShell face fabric, which provides a best-in-class combination of air permeability, stretch, packability, and waterproofing.
Additional new pieces include the Hayden Jacket, a Primaloft Silver Active insulated jacket for cold days, the Incubator 2.0 with Primaloft Gold, and new Alpha Direct Insulator. Marquee products including the CHAM Jacket, Nomad Bib Pant and the Sickbird Suite all see function, style and color updates for 2018/19.
Strafe Outerwear’s entire line will be on display at the Outdoor Retailer Snow Show in Denver, January 25-28 (booth: 32031-UL) and at ISPO in Munich, January 28-31 (booth: B4, 414).
