Sufferfest, a functional beer brand brewed by athletes, for athletes, has added professional sport climber Lindsey Tjian to its distinguished team of trail runners, ultra marathoners and obstacle course racers. She is the first climber to join the team.

Tjian, a former triathlete and rising star in the climbing community, found her way to bouldering through injury and never looked back. To help strengthen her climbing and add balance to her busy life, she cross trains with yoga, short distance trail runs, and weight lifting.

“Lindsey epitomizes the Sufferfest athlete,” said Sufferfest CEO and Founder Caitlin Landesberg. “Strong and multifaceted, she adds so much to the team and we’re proud to support her.”

Sufferfest counts athletes Amelia Boone, Cat Bradley, Morgan Sjogren, Paddy O’Leary, Rob Steger and Amy Leedham, among their athlete team — each recognized for their grit and balance. “When we bring someone onto the athlete team, we ask ourselves ‘Would we have a beer with this person?’ All of our athletes are genuinely kind, fascinating people with interests and passions outside of their sport — that’s what Sufferfest is all about,” says Landesberg.

The beer company resonates with the athletic set due to its fitness-friendly benefits; Landesberg disrupted the beer industry in 2016 when she created the new category of Functional Beer.

Sufferfest has recently introduced their FKT Pale Ale and Repeat Kolsch, both of which feature additional health benefits. Inspired by athletes but brewed for anyone, the FKT contains blackcurrant to bolster gut and kidney health, along with immunity-fighting support — each serving brings over 80mg of sodium to aid recovery after any good effort. The Repeat Kolsch harnesses the power of bee pollen superfood for extra protein and anti-inflammation, and weighs in at just 95 calories, 5 carbs and 3.5% ABV. All of the brand’s award-winning brews are also gluten-removed, in addition to containing naturally occurring vitamins and micronutrients, including potassium-rich barley, sodium, iron and fiber, that support athletes’ bodies.

Sufferfest produces an entirely canned lineup, making it optimal and responsible to bring to the crag, trail, river and beyond. Keeping with responsibility, Sufferfest is a Certified B Corporation and encourages all Leave No Trace principles: pack it in, pack it out.
