LA CAÑADA, Calif. (Aug. 1, 2016) – An advanced new, compact solution to cooking without fire is coming to ORSM ’16. Sunflair presents their most packable, lightweight, durable solar ovens, weighing only 8 to 18 oz. and folding out to cook most anything under the sun.

“When you’re on an outdoor excursion where using fire is impossible, you’re dreaming of a hot, cozy drink and a warm, yummy meal,” remarked Melinda Seller, founder and CEO of Sunflair Solar Ovens. “With our solar ovens you can make it all with no worries about flames, fuel or burnt food.”

Sunflair highlights include:

Go Anywhere. With Sunflair’s unique design, the three solar oven models fold down to either the size of a laptop computer or a seat cushion, and weigh as little as 8 oz. up to 18 oz. They’re made of highly resilient, flexible materials that are water-resistant. Each model comes with a variety of collapsible pots, trays and racks, solar thermometer, sample recipes, and storage bag.

Set it and forget it. Sunflair ovens fold out and set up in seconds. “Simply pop a meal into the oven and go have fun,” said Seller. The food never burns so there’s no need to “watch the pot”.

Tender, Nutritious Food. With solar cooking, juices evaporate less than with traditional cooking, causing the food to stay moister, longer and with more nutrients remaining.

Reheats & Rehydrates Quickly. With an outdoor UV index of 3 or above, the Sunflair reheats cooked food in about 15 minutes. It rehydrates freeze-dried food by simply adding water.

Cooks from Scratch. Sunflair ovens make most anything from scratch. “Food can be ready in roughly the same amount of time it takes to build a campfire and cook,” commented Seller. These ovens can reach temperatures up to 285 F, depending on weather conditions.

Pasteurizes Water. Sunflair provides an easy way to pasteurize water, with its separately-sold WAPI, a small, reusable thermometer that tells when the water has reached 149º F / 65º C.

Sunflair solar ovens provide cooking solutions for outdoorists of all kinds – campers, hikers, boaters, hunters, anglers, tailgaters and survivalists.

At OR, the company will screen its video showing how easy Sunflair is to use, travel with and store, as well as offer delicious treats that were baked in Sunflair ovens. (Booth PV3350.)

Seller is passionate about Sunflair’s philanthropic mission – Helping alleviate world hunger by bringing this low-cost, nutritious cooking solution to impoverished communities. Sunflair recently embarked in an exciting partnership with the non-profit organization, Children’s Hunger Fund (www.childrenshungerfund.org), where Sunflair is donating ovens and training the CHF staff in solar cooking. The charity will then distribute the ovens to disadvantaged families and provide them with solar cooking lessons.

“I believe everyone has a right to have a warm, cooked meal,” explained Seller. “In partnership with the remarkable Children’s Hunger Fund, Sunflair can help make that a reality.”

Sunflair is a new member of the Outdoor Industry Association.
