Super Mega-Awesome Copywriter Now Accepting "Appointments"

Nevada City, CA- Mike Mooers, Wicked Good Copy & Communications’ creative guru, manager of mojo, president, founder and only employee will attend Outdoor Retailer Winter Market, where, in spite of the spiraling demand for Mooers’ services, he will undertake pre-arranged visits with individuals and companies interested in Wicked Good’s super mega-awesomeness.

Mooers has dubbed these visits “appointments”.

Following on the heels of Wicked Good’s 2012 groundbreaking Passing Out Business Cards strategy, The appointment is yet another revolutionary way of doing business, one expected from such a visionary.

“Appointment? Well, the term comes from the early fifteenth century, and essentially means ‘a fixing of a date for official business’,” says Mooers. “It has been in the contemporary American vernacular for some time, and is often used to refer to designated meetings at events such as Outdoor Retailer.”

But all of that is just etymology. The real essence of what Wicked Good and Mooers are trying to achieve is a one-to-one interaction, something often lacking in this digitally-driven, screen-focused (DDSF) world.

Or, as Mooers puts it, “We are looking for one-to-one interaction, something often lacking in this digitally-driven, screen-focused world.”

These interactions can lead to connections, and ultimately partnerships where individuals work together, sending files and information and inane questions back and forth amongst one and other via digitally-driven, screen-focused interactions.

So how does an appointment work? It’s simple. Those wishing an audience with Mooers can reach out to him via a DDSF medium – say email. Mooers will then arrange a meeting – an appointment – at the location of their choosing. Trade show booths are popular sites.

At the appointment, Mooers and the attendee(s) will discuss copywriting needs, review current content, assess its status, then exchange business cards and arrange a means of “following-up” (see diagram above).

“Following-up” is an essential post-appointment, post-OR process that serves to jog the appointee’s memory since they grind through so many damn people, what with buyers and PR people and retailer dinners and visits from random factory reps and kids looking for sponsorship and pals showing up with beer that they (the appointment attendee) may forget who the heck does what when they empty the pile of business cards onto their already cluttered desk back at the office. Ugh. Okay then. Breathe. That’s for later. Back to the subject at hand.

The opportunity to experience an appointment is limited to those attending Outdoor Retailer Winter Market, unless the individual/company is located in Northern California. (As Wicked Good is located in Northern California, Mooers is quite happy to hop in his car to visit his Nor Cal homies in their place of business.)

If the appointment is not prearranged, all is not lost. Mooers may still come by the trade show booth, and arrangements can be made on the spot, in real time.

If one does not wish to arrange a real-time appointment, it is reccomended they hide somewhere in the booth, and have the individual at the front desk say to Mooers: “Do you have an appointment? No? He/She’s pretty busy – you can leave a card if you want.”

At this point Mooers will leave a card.

If he wants.
