Suspension Experts Gears Up for Local Mountain Bike Racing Season, Announces Partnerships for Fall 2013 Season

Suspension Experts, an Asheville-based mountain biking suspension service center and retail shop, announces new and renewed partners for the upcoming Mountain Biking Race Season in the Western North Carolina and Upstate South Carolina regions. Continuing their commitment to supporting local teams, athletes, and organizations, Suspension Experts founders, Kevin and Shelley Booth, are excited to announce Fall 2013 partnerships with local athlete Ryan Taylor, Warren Wilson College Mountain Biking team, and SEI Racing.

“Supporting the local mountain biking community is extremely important to us, both as business owners and as fellow enthusiasts of the sport,” says Shelley Booth, Suspension Experts Co-Founder and Business Manager. “Suspension Experts would not be in the position it is today if not for local organizations, teams and individual riders who contribute to the impact that the sport of mountain biking is having in our region,” continues Booth. “We are more than proud to give back to those who have made it possible for our business to thrive.”

Having entered the scene at a young age, Ryan Taylor, has been racing in various disciplines of mountain biking for 23 years. Taylor placed second at the most recent Beech Mountain Down Hill race located in Boone, NC. The event was the second event out of three races for the year. Over the next three months, Taylor will participate in six races in the disciplines of Down Hill, Super D and Enduro. These include the Beech Mountain Down Hill, the Kolo Bike Park Super D, the Bracken Mountain Super D, Blue Ridge Adventures’ Swank 65, the Suspension Experts South Carolina State Championship Paris Mountain Super D and the Paris Mountain Wild Turkey Enduro.

Suspension Experts is excited to be a continuing sponsor of the Warren Wilson College’s Mountain Biking Team. The 2013-2014 season is already shaping up to be an exceptional year for the private four-year college located east of Asheville, NC in the Swannanoa Valley. Matt Williams, a 2009 Warren Wilson graduate, is leading the team in the position of head coach for the first time this year and is looking forward to a busy fall racing season which will culminate with the conference championships at Brevard College on October 19th followed by the nationals at Lees McRae College on October 26th. In 2012 the Owls finished fourth overall at Nationals and are also coming off a 2012 SECCC Conference Championship. A dozen riders from the 2012 season have returned to roll out the 2013-14 season including Allison Jones, a former conference champion, Lilly Hacker, Mike Flynn and Dillon Siff.

Greenville, SC-based SEI Racing has been an organized mountain bike “gravity team” competing in disciplines of Down Hill, Enduro, Super D and Slalom for 10 years. The team is comprised of eight riders raging in ages from 20 to 42 years. SEI team members have a jam packed season ahead of them and are looking forward to the third installment of the Beech Mountain race series taking place on September 27-28th.
