Jason Tillinghast enlists as the new commercial category manager for North America
OGDEN, Utah – February 17, 2016 – Suunto, a global leader in sports precision instruments announces the appointment of Jason Tillinghast as commercial category manager for North America. Tillinghast will have a key role in executing the commercial strategy while being the primary interface between the brand and the sales force. Tillinghast will also lead the effort to further build the Suunto brand in the outdoor, performance and hook and bullet categories and work directly with the marketing and product teams.
Tillinghast has a strong industry background in wearable technology and a successful track record in sales and product management. Most recently, Tillinghast held the position of director of sales for K2 Sports and was responsible for the Atlas, Tubbs, K2 Inline Skates and Madshus Cross Country business. Prior to K2, he held a variety of positions at the Timex Corporation, including national sales manager and technology product manager, garnering him invaluable experience in nordic, bike, outdoor and wearable technology categories.

Tillinghast and his wife, Cristin, will relocate from Kent, Washington to Syracuse, Utah with their four cats. They enjoy running a few marathons each year as well as finishing an annual Ironman. They also hope to enjoy Utah’s vast backcountry at every possible opportunity.
Suunto was born in 1936 when Finnish orienteer and engineer Tuomas Vohlonen invented the mass production method for the liquid-filled compass. Since then, Suunto has been at the forefront of design and innovation for sports watches, dive computers and sports instruments used by adventurers all over the globe.
