Sympatex® Wins 2007 ispo Skiwear Award

January 25, 2007, Hampton, NH – Sympatex Technologies, maker of the Sympatex waterproof, windproof, breathable membrane, is proud to announce that it has won the ispo 2007 European Ski Award in the skiwear category.

The European Ski Awards is the international ispo competition created to highlight the best ski innovations of winter 2007/08. An international jury judges products on function, innovation, user-friendliness, and design. Categories in the competition include hardware, ski boots, ski bindings, skiwear, Nordic and other products not related to these categories.

“The Sympatex team has been working very hard to develop the most innovative and performance oriented materials in the market and we thank the ispo European Award Committee for this wonderful recognition,” said Dennis Hannon, Sympatex General Manager.

Sympatex designs and develops skiwear with its new Reflexion laminate primarily for the design workshops it conducts. The skiwear awarded is constructed of a woven nylon in universal camo, from Brookwood Companies, laminated to Sympatex Reflexion®.

Reflexion is created through a sophisticated production process whereby a very thin (50nm) and even layer of aluminum vapor is deposited onto the Sympatex nonporous membrane in a vacuum oven at 4000° C. Apparel made with Sympatex Reflexion radiates heat back to the body, thus keeping you warmer without the need of additional layers of insulation.

The award will be presented at the ispo On Snow Preview in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany on Friday, January 26.
