Tarma Designs New, Environmentally-Friendly Hand-cast Brushed Designs

At Om with new styles, Tarma Designs, creator of recycled stainless steel jewelry, appeals to the Spirit Within, offering new natural looking hand-cast, brushed pieces for women including the “Om,” “Lotus,” “Namaste,” and “Koru” in pendants, chain necklaces and earrings.

Tarma continues its commitment to sustainable jewelry with the new styles, available October 2007. The pieces are made from 316L recycled stainless steel in a brushed matte finish, a green alternative to silver that neither tarnishes or calls for environmentally harmful mining practices.

“The new hand-cast, brushed designs are a smaller and more lightweight alternative to the many styles in the current Tarma line, offering women the option of softer, more feminine designs.” explained Tarma Girl Stephanie George. According to George, the matte finish gives the pieces an antique-like feel, while the hand casting provides a handmade, artisan impression.

“Plus, the Eastern and culturally-inspired styles appeal to a large number of women who enjoy expressing their inner spirit through the jewelry they wear,” George continued. The Om image, Lotus Flower and Namaste greeting (translated to “I honor the spirit within you”) are time-honored spiritual symbols in yoga circles, while the Koru is a Maori (indigenous people of New Zealand) representation for new life, growth, strength and peace.

The pendants, 16 mm in diameter, dangle on a slim, black 18” adjustable recycled cord, for $25 MSRP. The necklaces, also 16 mm in diameter, feature 16-18” recycled stainless steel chains, for $30 MSRP. The dangle earrings are 11 mm in diameter for $20 MSRP.
