Tatoo Adventure Gear opens a 19K sq ft store in Quito, Ecuador

Tatoo Adventure Gear, the premium specialty outdoor retailer in South America, has opened a new store, which is probably the largest of its kind in Latin America.

This new location is part of a strategic plan conceived 3 years ago to develop a sustainable, well orchestrated growth in the whole region through large format specialty stores in selected countries, which in turn will allow more locals to embrace outdoor activities.

Tatoo Adventure Gear Plus+ includes four new categories to the company portfolio: kayaks, bikes, electronics and optics, as well as new services: a bike workshop, an auditorium open for the outdoor community, and an indoor, 800 sq ft professional, resin-made climbing wall.

“We chose Ecuador for this project because our HQ are located in Quito, and mainly since we foresee a tremendous untapped growth in outdoor activities in this Country in the coming years. Adding new categories and products to our traditional offer –climbing, mountaineering, camping, trail running, adventure racing and trekking- will help more urbanites and outdoor lovers to go out and enjoy the spectacular outdoors of this beautiful land. In just the few days the store has been opened, it has already become a city attraction due to its innovative design and ample product offer.
