Team Bulls Bikes rider Karl Platt of Germany and teammate Urs Huber of Switzerland won the overall victory at the Absa Cape Epic earlier today at the Meerendal Wine Estate Finish in South Africa. This is Platt’s fifth victory at the Cape Epic since his first win twelve years ago at the inaugural Cape Epic in 2004. This 2016 victory ties Platt, the veteran Team Bulls rider, with legendary Christoph Sauser of Switzerland, for the most Cape Epic victories in history.
“We are so proud to be associated with this amazing team and victory,” said Bulls Bikes USA General Manager, Sharon Yu. “Team BULLS is an incredible representation of not only the caliber of riders the brand attracts, but the level of riding that our bikes can handle. Huge congrats to Karl, Urs and the entire team.”
Team Bulls first raced as a pro outfit in the Cape Epic and have since participated for the past 10 years, inspiring Bulls Bikes to use this distinguished event as an opportunity to not only show its affinity for the country, but also unveil unique innovations in race spectating with Bulls Project Zebra.
Team Bulls rider and three-time Cape Epic victor, Stefan Sahm, rode a Bulls E-Stream EVO FS 3 29 ebike with a 3sixty 360 degree camera and six GoPros mounted to his helmet so spectators can view the pros like never before during the race, as well as capture some of the spirit and beauty of this world-renowned race.
