Kent, WA. – For the first time since its re-foundation in 2010, Raleigh’s thriving UK-based race team will compete in the US for the eighth annual Tour of the Battenkill, April 14-15, in Battenkill Valley, New York. Tour organizers have announced Raleigh as the official bike sponsor of the race, thanks in part to the brand’s recent partnership with BikeMS and its continued dedication to cause-ride initiatives.

The Tour of Battenkill is America’s largest one-day Pro/Am cycling race. Riders will pedal over 64 miles of rolling terrain on both dirt and paved roads as they travel through the world famous Battenkill Valley. As tradition would have it, the race will start and finish in the scenic village of Cambridge, New York, and course through covered bridges, family farms, and rural villages along the many challenging backcountry roads.

“Training camps are now over for our riders and it’s time to get their race on,” said Raleigh Marketing Manager, Brian Fornes. “This season is looking to be the one we’ve all been waiting for. The talent on the squad is the strongest it’s ever been and expectations are high.“

Team Raleigh will race on the latest of Raleigh America’s carbon racing series, the Militis 3. The Militis features High Modulus carbon and is mitered with Raleigh’s proven Direct Connect technology, which molds the headtube and downtube as one piece for optimal handling. Weighing a mere 880g and coupled with SRAM Red components and extremely light Ksyrium SLR rims, the Militis is a nimble and powerful weapon for the team to wield.
