GREENVILLE, S.C. (April 9, 2015) – Dedicated to exploring the limits of whitewater kayaking, Team Wave Sport announces a roster of 18 elite athletes who are committed to all disciplines of the sport, from steep creek boating and international river exploration to competitive freestyle competition.
“Team Wave Sport is an extraordinary group of dynamic, world-class kayakers who are on the water all year, rain or shine,” said returning Team Manager Bryan Kirk. “We have a diverse team made up of freestyle paddlers vying for the podium, explorers and adventurers pushing boundaries, and instructors passing along their extensive knowledge. These athletes are incredibly devoted to kayaking and promoting the sport through their endeavors and I am looking forward to watching and paddling alongside them.”
Team Wave Sport welcomes two new paddlers in 2015, Ian Wingert and Wyatt Hyndman, who both placed well in the 2014 Great Falls Race and recently notched the first descent of Cucumber Falls in Ohiopyle, Pennsylvania. Standout freestyle boater Hunter Katich returns to the team and will be showing off his moves at the ICF Freestyle World Championships in Ottawa and veteran team member Tad Dennis is expected to dominate in the C1 division. Kirk, Katich and Dennis, along with other returning Team Wave Sport athletes will be contenders at some of the country’s top whitewater events including the World Championships, Gauley Fest, GoPro Games, Green River Games, and Russell Fork Race.
Beyond competitions, Chris Wing will continue his Instructor Troublemaker kayaking skills videos teaching aspiring paddlers how to perform complicated freestyle moves and Devon Barker-Hicks will be running the Dare to Kayak School, a free program that teaches kids how to kayak.

About Wave Sport®
Wave Sport was founded in 1986 with a dedication to all things whitewater, and that philosophy holds true today. For Wave Sport, paddling is a journey whether over the course of a day or a lifetime. Some journeys are destined for a local, glassy surfing wave, while the journey for others may culminate in a first descent of some remote and enormous drop. For those who believe paddling is not just an activity, but a way of life, Wave Sport welcomes you to the ride. Join the Wave Sport Community and learn more at www.wavesport.com.
