BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (November 2006) – Reinforcing its commitment to winter sports devotees, Tech4Oâ„¢, Johnson Outdoor’s new line of electronic devices measuring personal performance, today announced it will partner with Nevado Mountain Adventures LLC to host 19 demo days at 12 resorts throughout New England for the coming season. Tech4Oâ„¢ will supply the Nevado demo team with its new AirPodâ„¢, the first and only product in the world to calculate in-the-air time or “hang time” for snowboarders; the Alti-Ski altimeter watch, which features an automatic run counter and provides cumulative ascent and descent information; and the Radar Snowsport Speedometer, which captures and transmits actual ground speed (expressed in mph), maximum speed, pace and distance.

Nevado Mountain Adventures LLC organizes free winter sports product demo days where consumers try a variety of new ski and snowboard products from over 30 different manufacturers. Its selection includes product from respected brands including Rossignol, Lamar and Sapient Snowboards, Native Eyewear, Yaktrax and Leedom Helmuts. This year’s Nevado snowy peaks tour includes stops at 12 New England ski resorts: Smuggler’s Notch, Jeffersonville, Vt. (12/2, 12/3); Jay Peak, Jay, Vt. (12/9); Gunstock, N.H. “The Tech4O line of personal performance measurement devices offers something for everyone – whether you are a serious racer looking for feedback on your speed or you’re a snowboarder looking for bragging rights with your friends,” said Josh Whitney, product manager for Tech4O. “Nevado Mountain Adventures LLC, an established company with a solid history in the winter recreation community, enables us to interact closely with our customers and communicate our innovative product features. This direct consumer approach to building brand awareness with consumers is a proven ‘try before you buy’ system that has been working in New England for 23 years.”

Tech4Oâ„¢’s AirPod measures: air time by jump, air time by day, cumulative lifetime air, and temperature. It also incorporates a jump counter and basic watch features including time, date and alarm. It should be worn on the leg above the knee, and it retails for $99.99. The new Alti-Ski Watch, featuring performance features for ski and snowboard devotees, has an altimeter, barometer, thermometer, automatic run counter and provides cumulative ascent and descent information.

Tech4O’s Radar Snowsport Speedometer uses the same kind of radar system as law enforcement uses to capture and transmit actual ground speed (expressed in mph), maximum speed, pace and distance. This tool is useful for cross-country, downhill, and back country skiers who want to measure their true speed and distance. The unit also has a lap/run counter and features stopwatch, time, date and alarm functions so it can double as a watch when not on the slopes. An optional heart monitor measures calories burned. Performance data is captured by the radar sensor, worn around the waist or strapped to the leg. The sensor’s advanced computer chip analyzes and sends data to the receiver watch via coded wireless transmission, preventing interference from other electronic devices. The Speedometer retails for $179.

“Tech4Oâ„¢ is pleased to partner with Nevado Mountain Adventures LLC to deliver our ground breaking electronics devices to the New England slopes for the ’06-’07 season,” Whitney continued. “The latest products from Tech4Oâ„¢ offer the next generation of real-time personal feedback to winter sports enthusiasts that will help to enhance their individual performance – a feature our market research showed today’s recreational athletes are demanding.”
