Teko is excited to announce its receipt of not just one, but two awards for recognition in the areas of support, advocacy, and leadership for the environment and the outdoors.
Teko is proud to say it powers all its manufacturing and day-to-day energy usage through American Wind® energy credits. Due to this, Teko has also received the EPA Green Power Leadership Club’s “Exemplary Green Power Procurement: 2006â€. To become a member of the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Green Power Partnership, Teko was required to purchase a minimum purchase of 60% of their annual electricity use. Teko has gone above and beyond this by purchasing 100% of its electricity needs through clean and green American Wind. Not only does Teko purchase green energy as much as possible, Teko reduces its ecological footprint through good design and superior materials for their products.
Leave No Trace, an international nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and inspiring responsible outdoor recreation through education, research and partnerships, honored extraordinary companies that made significant contributions to the Leave No Trace program. Teko received the 2006 award for Outstanding Support and Advocacy to the Leave No Trace program due to its work on behalf of the program. Teko donates 10% of its online sales to support Leave No Trace and worked with the nonprofit to increase donations with a raffle at the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market 2006.
