LONDON, England (March 13, 2019) Tentsile, the award-winning brand known for being first to market with its innovative and portable Tree Tents, is excited to announce the official launch of the Tentsile Universe to the public. The world’s first three-element tent and the brand’s most revolutionary model yet, The Tentsile Universe is designed to be used on land, in the air suspended by trees and on the water.
“Designed for family and group adventures, the Tentsile Universe is the only tent you will ever need,” said CEO and Founder Alex Shirley-Smith. “Inspiring creativity and fun, the Tentsile Universe is a multifunctional product that encourages both adventurous play and basic practical needs in any environment. No matter where you go, the Tentsile Universe will have you well-prepared when you’re face-to-face with the elements.”
The Tentsile Universe promotes community for all from family adventures to a weekend with friends to a music festival basecamp. The Tentsile Universe holds up to five adults when used on the ground and up to three adults while suspended in the air or floating on the water. The Tentsile Universe also hosts generous sleeping space, storage vestibules and the ability to modify ventilation; when covered, the Tentsile Universe provides 5.6 feet of headspace and three spacious porch areas. Add the rainfly, and the Tentsile Universe is insect-proof, rainproof and UV resistant. For unobstructed panoramic views, the entire roof can be removed.
When the activities move to the lake, the Tentsile Universe can be modified for on-water use by rolling back the vestibule doors, securing the rain fly and removing the insect mesh. This simple modification creates an incredibly stable three-person SUP-style raft to relax on the water. Made in conjunction with U.S.-based Glide SUP, the firm, insulated and inflatable three-inch PVC drop stitch floor provides comfort and flotation. The shelter is fully collapsible, packing to 44 x 15 x 15 in. and weighing just 45kg/100 lbs. It has a maximum load of 400kg / 880 lbs. MSRP: From $1999 USD.
The Tentsile Universe launch celebrates Tentsile’s six-year anniversary, and to celebrate, the brand is hosting a Facebook Live birthday event all day on Monday, March 18. During the event, Tentsile will be raffling off one Tentsile Universe, while pledging to plant 10 trees for each $2 raffle ticket purchased. Tickets can be purchased at tentsile.com from March 11 – March 18. In addition, a 10 percent discount will be applied to all Tentsile Universe orders leading up to March 18 and will include a free UNA Tree Tent, the lightweight single-person Tree Tent.
Tentsile Tree Tents were conceived as treehouses that can be set up anywhere – from camping to festivals to backyard adventures. Designed to encourage an appreciation and playful use of trees, Tentsile is the world’s leading Tree Tent company – driving social change to save the world’s forests. Tentsile plants 20 trees for each tent sold – over 430,000 and counting – and works with 1% For The Planet, donating one percent of its profits to environmental causes.
About Tentsile:
Tentsile is an award-winning brand founded on the pillars of passion, respect and innovation with a dedicated mission to inspire a love of trees by elevating the outdoor experience for all. The unique design of Tentsile’s portable tree houses allows people to enjoy the experience of camping amongst the trees, suspended above the ground for increased separation from insects, predators, damp or uneven ground. For each tent sold, Tentsile plants twenty new trees with partner organizations WeForest and The Eden Project. Both of these international nonprofits promote pioneering movements in large-scale sustainable reforestation and poverty alleviation initiatives. Follow Tentsile’s #BecomeOneOfTheMillion campaign as it works toward planting over a million trees by 2022.
