LOS ANGELES — April 25, 2012 — Urban transport specialist, Tern, will make its New Amsterdam Bicycle Show debut this week, showing off many of the bikes in its award-winning collection. This consumer-focused show kicks off this Saturday and runs through Sunday at Manhattan’s bike-friendly venue, Skylight SoHo.

With May’s National Bike Month starting right after the show wraps up, Tern will continue to build on its successful first year of operation. The company has proven in a short time to be an integral cog in the urban cycling movement, supporting events like the National Bike Summit in Washington DC and Los Angeles’ recent CicLAvia.

“New York is an amazing city best navigated by a bike, and nothing is more versatile to combine with the subway, train, and bus than a Tern,” stated Steve Boyd, general manager for Tern in North America. “We’re excited to represent at New Amsterdam for the urban rider who needs utility yet is passionate about cycling for the simple pleasure of it.”

Tern will bring along its recent red dot award-winningVerge Duo, a clean and simple looking bike with a ton of engineering prowess beneath the surface. It features a 2-speed hub that shifts automatically for simplicity and ease of use. With a coaster brake, the Verge Duo has no messy cables to hassle with and folds into a compact package in less than 10 seconds. A hydroformed frame gives the bike a distinctive look while the patented DoubleTruss design provides excellent torsional stiffness making the bike feel as rigid and responsive as any regular bicycle.

Tern will also bring along its purpose-driven Link series, offering plenty of gears and cargo capacity for many uses on variable, urban terrain. Specially designed for the Link series is the Trolley Rack, which lets you tow a folded Tern conveniently like a piece of luggage. The Trolley Rack helps riders easily navigate subway stations and the integrated cover hides the bike and keeps you and other passengers grease free.

Tern will exhibit in booth #58. For additional information and to purchase New Amsterdam show tickets, visit newambikeshow.com.
