Teva and The Outdoor Foundation today announced a new partnership effort aimed at broadening the outdoor community by engaging new audiences and industries in nature-based activities. As part of the program, Teva will provide charitable support to The Outdoor Foundation and the two organizations will work together to identify opportunities that redefine the outdoors as accessible to all Americans. The partnership announcement coincides with the launch of Teva’s B1-G Air promotion, which includes a donation for International Mountain Bicycling Association, IMBA, to expand Valmont Bike Park in Boulder, CO.

“We are so grateful to Teva for its generous support and ongoing leadership in helping to expand the outdoor community to include Americans of all backgrounds,” said Christine Fanning, Executive Director of The Outdoor Foundation. “Only by reaching out to new audiences and industries will we protect the health of the outdoor community – its people, places and prospects.”

The partnership with Teva will provide support for The Outdoor Foundation’s core mission to spur a massive increase in outdoor recreation and inspire future generations of outdoor enthusiasts and stewards. In addition, the joint effort will build upon Teva’s leadership that has been successful in creating a space where, regardless of method, the common thread is the outdoor experience. Through music, competition and art Teva has helped broadened the scope of the industry.

On May 15th, Teva will launch the Teva B1-G Air Contest, which will invite contestants to create a short video of their “biggest air trick” to enter to win a trip to the 2010 Teva Mountain Games where they’ll participate in the Serac Adventure Film School. The effort also includes a cause-related component where a donation from Teva and The Outdoor Foundation will be made in the winner’s name to IMBA to help build the Valmont Bike Park in Boulder, CO.

“The goal of Teva’s B1-G Air Contest is to expand our industry’s definition of what it means to enjoy the outdoors. Our partners, the Outdoor Foundation and IMBA, both understand the importance of broadening the traditional outdoor experience to include urban playspots as well. Whether you ride under eaves of the Brooklyn Bridge in NY or hit a singletrack dirt trail in Vail, each experience can inspire the participant to spend more time outside.”-Liz Ferrin, Teva Global Promotions and Events Manager
