Professional Ultrarunner Jax Mariash to Compete in the Elite Field of The North Face Endurance Challenge Championships this Saturday

Jax Mariash, professional ultrarunner and founder of STOKED Roasters, will be competing in the highly-competitive elite wave of the The North Face (TNF) Endurance Challenge 50-mile Championship race in San Francisco this Saturday, November 18th. The North Face Endurance Challenge is North America’s premier trail-running series that features two-day, trail-running festivals in six locations across North America: New York, Washington, D.C., Ontario, Wisconsin, Utah, and California.

With a hefty prize purse of $30,000 for the elite field – $10,000 each for the winner in both the women and men’s divisions – this year’s race is drawing the “best of the best” in ultrarunning. Taking off at 5:00 AM on Saturday, elite field runners can have crew support, but will not be permitted to use a pacer, as they tackle 10,400 feet of climbing through the Marin Headlands.

An accomplished and well-decorated ultrarunner, Jax has been touted as a woman to watch in the stacked elite field and enters the race with an impressive season under her belt: she’s had four podium finishes and all top-female results, including a first place finish in the women’s division (sixth overall) at the TNF Endurance Challenge race in Park City, Utah this Fall. In 2016, Jax became the first woman to complete the 4 Deserts Grand Slam Plus, a series of five 155-mile foot races across the roughest terrain in the world and was crowned the 2016 4 Deserts Female World Champion upon winning all of the major 4 Deserts races.
