DENVER, April 3, 2020 – The Shed, the first full-service consumer goods rental marketplace, announced today its new partnership with Klymit, a comfort innovator in advanced outdoor technology.
Through the partnership, Klymit is providing some of its products to The Shed, which will in turn rent those products to consumers in the greater-Denver metro area.
“We’ve seen all the data showing the growing demand for outdoor gear rental and we want to leverage that marketplace,” said Klymit Vice President of Sales Bart Miller.
The Shed allows manufacturers, retailers and entrepreneurs to stock inventory in its distribution centers at no cost. The Shed then markets that inventory for rental via its one-click ordering platform and delivers the item to the consumer. The manufacturer earns 50% of the rental income every time their product rents. Pricing is optimized based on market demand and inventory availability to maximize success.
“With Denverites’ passion for the outdoors and a large percentage of the population living in apartments with little-to-no storage space, the Denver metro is a prime market for outdoor retailers to explore new channels for getting their products into the hands of their target demographic,” said B Gottwald, President of The Shed Denver.
“In addition to serving rental needs, having Klymit products in The Shed gives consumers looking to make purchases a chance to ‘try before they buy,’” said Miller. “At Klymit, we know that once someone ‘road tests’ our gear they are typically customers for life, so we expect our partnership with The Shed will help us grow traditional sales as well.”
A sampling of Klymit products stocked at The Shed include the:
- Maxfield 2 Tent,
- Cross Canyon 4 Tent,
- KSB 20 Down Sleeping Bag,
- Motion 60 Backpack and
- Traverse Double Hammock.
The Shed Denver has inked deals with several other companies specializing in high-end outdoor gear, but is still seeking new partnerships. For more information, email .
The Shed’s other product lines will include tools, automotive, yard and garden, music, industrial solutions, safety equipment and more. It also does full-service party/event rentals including backyard barbecues, school carnivals and black-tie weddings.
