The Winners of the 16th ispo BrandNew Awards Have Been Named

The organizers of the world’s largest startup contest, ispo BrandNew, are presenting the most innovative products of the sports industry for already the 16th time. A total of 178 companies from 19 countries took part in the current contest. The following criteria were prerequisites for successful participation: only new companies, which have been active on the market for a maximum of four years and never exhibited previously at ispo as exhibitors, are considered within the framework of BrandNew. In addition, the submissions must be exceptional, high-quality innovations, which contain these qualities both in product and design. In line with the number of categories, the 18-person jury from the sporting goods industry and ispo selected eight winners, who will present their products in the BrandNew Village at ispo SPORT & STYLE.

The BrandNew-Awards have long become established among the most important instruments for establishing new products from the sports and sport fashion areas in retail sales. Many new-generation brands have been able to penetrate the market in this way over the past years.

And here are the winners:

Overall WINNER: Easy Glider (CH)
“Let’s Glide” is the motto of the Swiss invention company, which convinced the BrandNew jury this summer with its electric wheel motor called Easy Glider. Regardless of whether on inline skates or attached to a wheeled footbridge in no time, the multi-functional fun vehicle is not only a novel transport means, but also a real eye-catcher. It can be used in many ways, and provides pure, mobile electric riding fun in bright colors. Thanks to its childishly simple operation and its great breaking properties, Easy Glider ensures optimum safety even on uneven surfaces. The device, which weights almost 30 kg and travels at a maximum of 20 km/h, has a battery-driven, eco-friendly electric motor.

Hardware Accessories WINNER: Naturistick Fertilizer Cleats (GER)
The soccer cleats developed by Daniel Wilhelms with integrated long-term fertilizers not only provide sure footing a grass, but even help maintain it. The high-quality screw-in cleats are a revolution for providing nutrients to soccer fields in amateur and professional sports.

Hardware Summer WINNER: Extrong Surf Runner (USA)
The Extrong Surf Runner is a multi-functional sports device, which can be used for very different applications and is very lightweight. Kite boarding is the focus, according to inventor Jay Seo, whereby the Surf Runner provides very easy access to this sport, because it can be used while sitting and even when there is little wind.

Wheeler WINNER: Waldmeister (GER)
The Wooden Bike from Waldmeister is distinguished not only by its extraordinary design, but above all by its special basic material. The bike frame produced in a time-consuming procedure is composed of approx. 100 thin wood layers and guarantees increased riding comfort in addition to improved riding properties.

Style WINNER: Losgelöst (GER)
Clothing, which is made from tree bark: this way of using bark has its origins in the south and southwest of Uganda and its neighboring countries Congo, Rwanda and Tanzania. But only a few people still have mastery of this manufacturing process handed down through generations. One of them is Susana Duarte Pinto, the founder of the brand Losgelöst.

Sportswear WINNER: Aegix (USA)
Aegix combines fashion, function and protection for snowboarders and skiers and guarantees individual adaptation of clothing to the needs of athletes. Dave Dobkin put his experiences from extreme sports of 20 years into the collection. The snowboard and ski clothing is also distinguished by its very fashionable design.

Accessories WINNER: Blackeye two (USA)
Even those who play sports just for fun will not have the chance to shoot professional video clips of themselves and their sports friends with the BLACKEYEâ„¢TWO helmet camera. Equipped with two different headbands and three different sizes of helmet adapters, the camera fits almost every helmet and consequently almost every head. Its flexible casing protects both the helmet and the modern camera electronics from scratches and other damage.

Sportswear Accessories WINNER: Vayu Verdeâ„¢ (GER)
Vayu Verdeâ„¢ is a technical membrane, which guarantees active temperature and humidity control while letting a maximum amount of air pass through. The new material becomes waterproof automatically when it rains and consequently prevents moisture from getting into clothes.
