SEATTLE, Washington (June 7, 2017) — Therm-a-Rest, the leader in outdoor comfort, is proud to announce its continued support of non-profits, American Hiking Society (AHS), the Access Fund and Big City Mountaineers.
For the third year in a row, Therm-a-Rest will support the American Hiking Society’s mission to promote and protect foot trails, their natural surrounding areas, and the overall hiking experience. In addition to being a Contributor-level sponsor, Therm-a-Rest is an official sponsor of National Trails Day and donated 5 percent of ecommerce sales between May 1 and May 5 this year as part of the Gear Up and Get Out campaign.
In addition to AHS, Therm-a-Rest is continuing its support of the Access Fund which works to protect climbing access and the integrity of America’s outdoor climbing areas. The long-standing partnership between the Access Fund and Therm-a-Rest dates back to the 1990s, with over $100,000 in contributions received from Therm-a-Rest since 1999. For 2017, Therm-a-Rest will support the three conservation teams in their nationwide outreach efforts. Therm-a-Rest employees will also be getting their hands dirty by joining a conservation team this summer at a local Seattle project.
Therm-a-Rest is also proud to support the Big City Mountaineers and their mission to instill critical life skills in under-resourced urban youth through transformative wilderness mentoring experiences. Therm-a-Rest is a Trail Angels-level sponsor which includes product donations for their expeditions and fundraising initiatives, such as Summit for Someone, a series of charity climbs benefitting the BCM mission. Therm-a-Rest employees will also be participating in volunteer mentorships during upcoming expeditions.
“The missions of these organizations reflect what’s at the heart of the Therm-a-Rest brand; a deep respect and appreciation for the places that we play. Enabling these organizations helps protect the future of the outdoor industry and allows younger generations to enjoy the outdoor areas that we know and love,” explains Erik Flink, Therm-a-Rest Brand Director.
