Therm-a-Rest, the Seattle-based leader in premium outdoor comfort, announced it has won an OutDoor INDUSTRY AWARD for its new Therm-a-Rest Antares sleeping bag at the 2012 European OutDoor Trade Fair. The three-season Antares sleeping bag was recognized for its degree of innovation and functionality, and was the only winner in the sleeping bag category.
The 750+ fill-power goose down Antares sleeping bag features a cutting-edge combination of technology, design and materials. Weighing just 890 g (1 lb. 15 oz., regular size) the Antares bag is the lightest three-season solution in Therm-a-Rest’s new 2013 sleeping bag collection—and one of the lightest on the market. It is rated to -7 degrees Celsius (20 degrees Fahrenheit) and is designed to work seamlessly with a mattress for greater warmth and freedom of movement, resulting in dramatically better sleeping experience.
The Antares sleeping bag, along with four other sleeping bags in Therm-a-Rest’s new line, features two patent-pending SynergyLinkâ„¢ mattress connectors to create the most secure, comfortable mattress connection in the industry. The flexible bands create a snug fit around any mattress—up to 25 inches (63 cm) wide—to keep insulation centered and eliminate problems with sliding, twisting and cold spots.
Unlike conventional bags, loft is concentrated in the top of the Antares sleeping bag to better trap rising warm air, and removed in the bottom where a mattress provides insulation from the ground. The Efficient Comfort fit perfectly matches the body’s natural resting positions – especially side sleeping — allowing shoulders, elbows, and hips to move without restriction.
Therm-a-Rest’s award-winning Antares sleeping bag will be shown at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market in August, 2012. Therm-a-Rest’s 2013 line of down and synthetic sleeping bags and blankets will be available in stores January 2013.
Seattle-based Therm-a-Rest has been the market leader in premium outdoor comfort since its invention of the world’s first self-inflating mattress in 1972. A commitment to providing inventive, long-lasting and reliable products has driven the expansion of the line into closed-cell foam mattresses, air mattresses, sleeping bags, blankets and seating solutions that reinvent the way people sleep outside. All Therm-a-Rest® mattresses are made in the Seattle, U.S.A. and Cork, Ireland manufacturing facilities. For more information, visit www.thermarest.com.
