Ventraâ„¢ Down Comforter makes sleeping outdoors more like sleeping at home

OutDoor Fair, FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, GERMANY – Cascade Designs, Inc., the Seattle-based industry leader in the design and manufacture of premier outdoor equipment, today announced the January 2009 release of the Therm-a-Rest Ventra Down Comforter as part of the Therm-a-Rest brand’s Trek & Travel series. The 40-degree Fahrenheit rated comforter is filled with premium 650-fill European down and works with any Therm-a-Rest mattress, creating a warm, comfortable and roomy outdoor sleeping system.

The Ventra Down Comforter offers the freedom to move that traditional mummy bags don’t, allowing for more room in the legs and feet and the ability to vent on warmer nights. The comforter can snap to any Therm-a-Rest mattress with a simple Mattress Snap Kit or the recently-introduced Therm-a-Rest Fitted Sheet that slips onto the mattress itself, providing next-to-skin comfort. The comforter features dual-draft collars that weigh down the sides to keep the blanket wrapped around the body, plus a footbox that keeps feet easily tucked in while moving during sleep. The versatility of the comforter also allows it to be used on its own around the campfire, in a backpacking hostel or on an airplane.

A double-bed can be achieved by snapping two comforters together and connecting the mattresses beneath with a Coupling Kit or with two Therm-a-Rest Fitted Sheets snapped together. The Therm-a-Rest Ventra Down Comforter will be available in two sizes and two colors—Limon and Chili Pepper—and will be available for $199.95 and $229.95 USD.
