Native Eyewear will donate $5 to Outdoor Alliance for every sunglass or goggle sold on its website
Longmont, Colo. (June 2, 2017) —Throughout the month of June Native Eyewear will donate $5 for every sunglass or goggle sold on its website to the and their campaign.
“All of us at Native believe in protecting our public lands. We’re not just an eyewear company. We’re an eyewear company determined to play a part in protecting our backyard for the good of all,” said John Sanchez, General Manager of Native Eyewear. “We believe that public lands are for everyone and believe that it is our duty to lend a hand in defending these lands and protecting them for future generations.”
Native Eyewear has a longstanding history in supporting conservation and preservation in the outdoors. Native Eyewear sunglasses and goggles are built for the backcountry and designed to perform and withstand the harshest conditions and toughest elements. All of Native Eyewear’s products are intended for people who get out and enjoy the outdoors, regardless of the activity. Recreating on public lands provides the opportunity for everyone to roam free and appreciate nature.
The Outdoor Alliance Protect Our Public Land campaign brings together the human-powered outdoor community to keep public lands—the places people love to camp, ride, climb, hike, and play—public and protected. The Outdoor Alliance has mobilized this passionate community to defend public lands against attacks over the last two years, including stopping bills to sell off millions of acres of public land, transfer control to private entities, or dispose of the places we love to play.
“We’re thrilled to be partnering with Native Eyewear to bring energy and attention to protecting our public lands, and ensuring that we’ll have places to paddle and ride and climb and explore today and into the future,” said Adam Cramer, Executive Director of the Outdoor Alliance.
Commitment to Sustainability through Manufacturing
Native Eyewear’s commitment to sustainability runs beyond social goodwill and is also a part of how they produce their products. All Native Eyewear sunglasses and goggle frames are created from sustainable, agriculturally-derived materials rather than non-biodegradable petroleum-based plastics. This biodegradable resin originates as the castor-bean and offers a purity unrivaled by traditional resin frames. Castor-based frames are more resilient and durable than those made with petroleum. Native Eyewear believes that quality gear should not come at the cost of our outdoor playground.
In addition to bio-based frame resin, Native’s packaging is thoughtfully created. The packaging materials are designed using recycled shopping bags, plastic bottles, soy-based inks, and recycled cardboard.
