ViewRanger, the outdoor discovery app, has announced winners from four countries at its inaugural Top Publisher Awards event in London.

Two of the UK’s most popular National Parks, TV presenter Julia Bradbury, prestigious Alpine guidebook publisher Rother Wanderführer, Italian cycling organization Bici Club Sibillini, and Armenia’s mountainous Janapar Trail were among the ten winners selected by ViewRanger – a free app that hosts content from more than 600 professional publishing partners and thousands of local outdoor experts around the world.

“Our congratulations to the inaugural winners of ViewRanger’s Top Publisher Awards,” said Craig Wareham co-founder and CEO of ViewRanger. “These organizations, authors, publishers, and local experts are using digital route guide publishing to go beyond the constraints of traditional guidebooks and websites. They’re creating highly engaging experiences that educate and entertain our global community – and most importantly inspire us all to discover the outdoors.”

ViewRanger’s 2016 Top Publisher Awards recognize excellence in digital route guide publishing; with the winners judged on the quality of their route guides, creative use of the unique opportunities digital publishing offers, clever use of ViewRanger’s software as part of an integrated campaign, and of course, popularity with outdoor enthusiasts.

“Since the popularity of Julia Bradbury’s televised walks, our aim when we created The Outdoor Guide was to get more people outdoors, and that’s why we’ve published routes with ViewRanger since the very start,” said Gina Bradbury Fox, Julia’s sister and Managing Director of The Outdoor Guide. “ViewRanger provides all the tools we need to create the best digital routes for millions of outdoor lovers around the world to use – and they’re lovely people to deal with too!”

The winners of ViewRanger’s 2016 Top Publisher Awards are:

  • Bici Club Sibillini
  • Julia Bradbury and The Outdoor Guide
  • The Disabled Ramblers
  • Doug Johnson
  • Janapar Trail
