Who:Among the elite trail runners currently entered are: Dean Karnazes, Krissy Moehl, Max King, Caitlin Smith, Andy Martin, Anita Ortiz, Bryan Dayton and Greg McMillan.
About:In its fourth year, the 2009 GORE-TEX TransRockies Run® has become the largest and best-known stage race in North America. Set high in the Colorado Rockies and covering 113 miles and 20,000 feet of climbing, this is a unique event open to teams of two.
This year, the GORE-TEX TransRockies Run also inaugurates Run3, a solo division race taking place concurrently with the first three days of the TransRockies team event.
Beaver Creek local Anita Ortiz is back and will certainly have some competition from returning women’s champion Caitlin Smith. Ultra celebrity marathoner, Dean Karnazes joins the field of competitive men including Greg McMillan who is not only running but is promoting a training program for this particular race.
