Indiegogo Campaign Now Live
Los Angeles, Calif. – July 25, 2017

Torch Apparel, the original crowdfunded cycling helmet with integrated lights, will launch the M1 Helmet, on July 25th on Indiegogo.com.
Unlike any helmet currently available, the M1 will blaze the paths of cyclists world-wide with revolutionary and rechargeable fully-integrated 500-lumen headlight and LED taillights. After listening to backers and fans from Torch’s previous crowdfunded lighted-helmets, the T1 and T2, the M1 is a new arrow in Torch’s quiver with increased power and capability of the lights, enhanced ventilation and a sleek, functional design by award-winning designer Nathan Wills.
In addition to throwing blowtorch 500 lumen illumination, the M1 keeps things cool and lightweight, using a high-grade 6061 aluminum housing to act as the light’s LED heat-sink, giving the helmet an overall weight of only 13 ounces. Both LED front and rear lights are recessed into the helmet without obstructing the 30-degree beam, and mitigating the chance of snagging the lights on any obstacles while riding.
Priced at an MSRP of $200, but with generous early-bird ordering on Indiegogo, the removable, USB-rechargeable and compact lights feature four power modes: high, medium, low (100 lumen) and pulse, for added safety and customization.
Torch, who now offers helmets in 54-62.5 cm with a dial adjust, designed the M1 with three angle adjustments to add individualization for the rider and their ride, whether it be a night ride, dawn or dusk pedal on the road, or for added visibility during inclement daytime conditions.
“When I launched Torch in 2012 with the T1, I knew that I was filling a hole that existed in all niches of the greater cycling market and that there was ample room to grow Torch’s product line throughout time. And today, I’m proud to announce a big addition to our product portfolio with the M1.”
Because of the continued loyal support from backers and fans that began in 2012, Torch feels it is only appropriate to exclusively present and offer the M1 first to those original followers through an early launch notification email. With this early launch notification email, fans can save up to 50% on future retail price, simply by signing up via email or Facebook here: https://comingsoon-tech.com/torch-m1-bike-helmet .
To see the third generation in Torch helmets come to fruition, the company has a goal of $25,000 for the campaign, which ends Aug. 24th. And when that goal is met, the company is prepared to go into full production for the M1 to be sold world-wide.
Boasting a stylistically-popular MTB-enduro helmet design while retaining a timeless low-profile look with the versatile option to remove the visor for urban and road riding, the M1 is also capable of seamlessly mounting an action camera, without the lights obstructing the view of the action camera.
The M1 will have the highest safety certifications available: the Consumer Product Safety Commission and the CE certifications.. The CPSC safety certification indicates that the helmet meets U.S. standards to provide protection against skull fractures and severe brain injuries when the helmet is used properly, and the CE marking indicates that it fulfills the requirements of the European Economic Community.
With the proven superior ability to absorb impact energy and its extreme lightweight, the internal EPS foam converts, channels and dissipates crash energy to prevents that energy from reaching the brain or body. The rigid EPS foam is in-molded into the helmet and is encased and protected by a strong, durable polycarbonate shell, reducing the impact energy to the body during an accident.
The M1’s clean yet rugged aesthetics and cross-discipline functionality make for a suitable protection and safety option for core riders of all riding styles. Being the premier crossbreed of design and function and being the epitome of versatility and multi use, the M1 successfully satisfies the expansive and multi-faceted demands of consumers.

About Torch Apparel
Torch, founded in 2012, is the result of more than two years of research and development by industrial designer turned entrepreneur, Nathan Wills. After months of long cross-town commutes in LA, by both bike and car, he was inspired to launch this brand with a line of products designed to make cyclists stylish in the day and visible at night. After a successful campaign on Kickstarter, Torch raised the funding necessary to begin production development of the T1 bicycle helmet. Since then Torch has continued to receive great attention from the cycling world as well as the media regarding its original lighting functions and stylish design.
Torch is a private company created, owned, and operated by real cyclists who enjoy riding for daily transportation, bettering our community, and even the occasional competition. We are very proud and thankful for all of our supporters and the value and validity they bring to Torch.
