Torque Fitness Introduces X-Lab Edge for Small Group Functional Training

Andover, Minn. – March 12, 2014 – To accommodate the growing demand for small group functional training, Torque Fitness, an innovator of premium strength equipment for health clubs and homes, has created the X-Lab Edge, which is debuting this week at Booth # 4458 at the 33rd annual IHRSA Convention and Trade Show in San Diego.

The commercial grade X-Lab Edge allows any size health club, fitness facility or personal training studio to easily incorporate small group training for 2-4 individuals simultaneously. With a compact footprint requiring only 6.5’ by 6.5’, the X-Lab Edge fits into a corner or against a wall.

“This progressive product really is a response to customer demands,” said Tom Baumler, vice president of product development and marketing at Torque Fitness. “Our X-Lab Spider Series offers group functional training systems of varying sizes and multiple configurations, but we still have clubs where the only available space for small group workouts is in the corner or along a wall.”

The base system accommodates 2-4 users at the same time performing pull-ups or using battle ropes, suspension straps and resistance cords. Only Torque’s systems enable each individual to perform the same exercise at the same time, which maximizes efficiency, minimizes disruption and simplifies a personal trainer’s directions.

Anchor points for battle ropes are incorporated with the built-in bar storage and optional ground rotational trainers – and are tucked away in the corner to conserve floor space. Additional optional attachments include ball targets, dip stations, plyo-steps and heavy bag anchors.

With up to six large accessory trays to hold medicine balls, kettlebells, dumbbells and more, the X-Lab Edge facilitates efficient workouts with all tools located directly at the exerciser’s station. The accessory trays also keep equipment off the floor and showcase a neat, organized functional area.

Trainers will appreciate the integrated holder for an iPad® or clipboard, which puts X-Lab programming ideas at one’s fingertips. And the X-Lab Edge is expandable and can grow with a facility’s changing needs over time.

For exceptional durability, the X-Lab Edge is made of structural grade, 11-gauge steel, with a 5 mm powder coat paint and uprights protected by a clear coat. Pricing starts at $3475 for the base unit, which is backed by a warranty of 10 years on the frame and welds and one year on parts. It will be available in Q3 2014.
