FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Denver, CO—Cycling enthusiasts around the world rejoiced as the 2015 Tour de France kicked off on Saturday, July 4. As one of the most prestigious bike races in the world, the Tour de France consists of 21 stages, covering a total distance of 3,360 miles through France and neighboring countries. Rudy Project has taken this year’s event by storm, with riders from Astana, EuropCar, Bora-Argon 18, IAM, Cofidis, and the entire LottoNL-Jumbo team.

“This year we have a truly diverse field of athletes battling it out in the Peloton, all wearing Rudy’s absolutely latest performance sunglasses,” said President of Rudy Project North America, Paul Craig. “With feedback from these riders, we’ve crafted an absolutely stunning new sunglass design, engineered to be lightweight, well ventilated to prevent fogging, and beyond all measure, comfortable in the heat of battle.”

Rudy Project is looking forward to outstanding performances from all of their riders, especially Wilco Kelderman of Team LottoNL-Jumbo. Wilco is currently the 2015 Dutch National Time Trial Champion and has the ability to impress during tougher mountain stages.

Beside Wilco on Team LottoNL-Jumbo is Robert Gesink, who has the strength to put out a remarkable result in this year’s Tour. Most recently, Robert finished 5th in the General Classification at the Amgen Tour of California and 9th at the Tour de Suisse.

Another powerful sprinter this year to keep an eye on is Sam Bennett from Bora-Argon 18. Sam gave a solid performance during the 2015 Bayern Rundfahrt, where he won two stages and grabbed 3rd in the Points Classification. This is Sam’s first appearance at the Tour de France, and it gives him a great opportunity to explore his potential as a sprinter and General Classification rider.

Different kits may set these talented cyclists apart, but they all unite under the Rudy family. This year, the riders are debuting Rudy Project’s latest performance sunglass, the Tralyx. This new breakthrough shield-style incorporates classic Italian design and cutting-edge technology to create a unique shield-style sunglass that is sure to give these riders an edge.

The 2015 Tour de France runs from July 7 to July 26. Look for solid performances from all of the Rudy Project riders, who will incorporate their feedback into the final design of the 2016 Tralyx. Keep an eye out for Rudy Project’s newest sunglass, which is set to hit the North American market this September at authorized dealers and at www.e-rudy.com.
