TravelChair is proud to announce the recent appointment of two veteran and widely respected rep groups as it builds momentum to recapture its rightful place atop the product category it invented and pioneered more than 25 years ago.

Frontier Group will handle TravelChair’s Northwest territory comprised of Washington, Oregon, AK, Idaho and Montana. The six-person Frontier Group, headed by principles John Morioka and Scott Oshman, has been in the outdoor business for 30 years.

In the Gulf Coast/Central region Allen Breeding will manage sales throughout Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Mississippi, Kansas and Arkansas.

Breeding says that in the scant few weeks since he added TravelChair to his roster, he’s been pleasantly surprised by the reaction of shop employees. “They see the difference in quality and understand the value quotient,” Breeding said. The reaction at retail is made all the more impressive by the fact that, as Breeding notes, many independent retailers had “walked away” from the category when low-cost knockoffs infiltrated the mass market.

Speaking on behalf of Frontier Group, Morioka said he appreciates TravelChair’s commitment to innovation and product development: “They’re enthusiastic, it’s their life and they’re committed to being the very best outdoor folding furniture company in the business. Morioka said TravelChair’s corporate mindset fits well with the other brands Frontier represents which include Gramicci, Mountainsmith, Acorn and Helly Hansen.

The addition of Frontier Group and Breeding bring to four the number of groups handling sales territories for TravelChair. Already on board are other stalwart industry veterans Lisa and Don Otey handling the Mid-Atlantic and New England States and Beaty Jackson covering the entire Southeast.

Don Otey has been repping TravelChair for more than 15 years, noting some of the original product samples he first got are still useable, a fact Otey says speaks volumes for the brand. While TravelChair’s quality and durability are unassailable, Otey admitted it does take some effort to educate both the dealer and the consumer about how and why TravelChair is a better purchase than disposable mass-market camp chairs. Even so, Otey said TravelChair’s been a steady and dependable line for him, especially appreciated by outfitters.

“As we work to reinvigorate and reposition the TravelChair brand in North America, it’s crucial to have the proven track record of quality and integrity as well as intimate knowledge of specific regions that this amazing sales team offers,” said Daniel Roso, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for TravelChair. Roso noted TravelChair is still actively interviewing for experienced sales representatives in the Southwest, Rockies and Midwest.

Founded in 1984, TravelChair’s unwavering commitment to building “the best chair you’ve ever owned” means quality design, materials and attention to detail that result in strong, stable and durable chairs that have earned the family-owned and run company the reputation for hype-free authenticity and pride in craftsmanship.
