Cassidy Phillips to Summit the 19,341 ft. Peak to Raise $100,000 for Clean Water, Education, Medical Care andEconomic Development for Vea, Ghana

June 6, 2013, Austin TX: For over a decade, Cassidy Phillips, founder of Trigger Point Performance, has been dedicated to helping athletes prevent and treat injuries and maximize their potential through his creation of the leading self-care massage products on the market. By combining his therapy tools with education, Phillips has empowered athletes worldwide to perform better, recover faster and most importantly, unlock their bodies from tight muscles and discomfort. On June 14th, Phillips will head to Tanzania, Africa as part of a fundraising mission aimed at raising funds and awareness for the villagers of Vea. Phillips joins a team of 11 other Texas based entrepreneurs, businessmen and philanthropists with a goal of raising $100,000 to provide clean water, education, medical care and economic development for the village.

“My mission in life is to empower people to do things they never thought possible,” said Phillips. “In the United States, empowerment is a mindset, but for the villagers of Vea, empowerment begins with the true necessities of life. By providing basic medical supplies, household water filters, and access to education and training opportunities, I hope to empower the villagers of Vea and give them a longer, healthier, better quality of life.”

Phillips is no stranger to a physical challenge. As a former endurance athlete and worldwide business traveler living with fibromyalgia, he faces the continual challenge of keeping his body healthy and pain free. A man who truly practices what he preaches, Phillips follows a strict self-care program using Trigger Point Therapy products to ensure he remains injury and pain free before, during and after the climb.

Donations for the group’s fundraising can be made through the ChangeGhana.org website through June 17, 2013. All contributions are tax deductible and 100% of funds raised go directly to the village projects.
