Trimble Offers Custom Topographic, Aerial and Hybrid Map Prints

Create Custom Printed Maps for Outdoor Adventures or Large Format Wall Maps

SUNNYVALE, Calif.,—Trimble (NASDAQ: TRMB) introduced two new large print map sizes for outdoor enthusiasts. The new map products are provided through MyTopo, a Trimble company, at The large wall maps, available in 4-foot by 5-foot and 5-foot by 8-foot sizes, can be scaled to cover entire mountain ranges or provide stunning details of specific peaks, streams, or parks, providing a valuable overview of terrain or a fantastic souvenir of an outdoor experience.

MyTopo has made high-quality custom maps available to hikers, hunters and other outdoor recreationists since 1999. With the new two new sizes, the custom prints are now available in five sizes ranging from 18″ x 24″ to 60″ x 96″. Paper choices include waterproof, glossy, laminated or banner-style material and smaller map sizes can be professionally folded for use in the field. In addition, users can overlay GPS coordinates on maps, select the map scale, add navigation grids, and personalize them with names and map titles.

MyTopo’s website has a simple five-step process to design custom maps for areas in the U.S. and Canada. Base map options include U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and Department of Natural Resources Canada (DRCAN) topographic maps, up-to-date color aerial imagery from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and TopoPhoto maps (a hybrid topographical/aerial photomap). In addition, thousands of base maps have been enhanced with info from the U.S. Forest Service and other map providers. The aerial imagery comes from the USDA National Agriculture Imagery Program (NAIP), which is updated every two or three years.
