Two Outdoor Industry Leaders
Announce 2013 Financial Support for Medicines Global
Red Wing/VASQUE and adidas Outdoor aid MGOYA “Get kids Moving”
Los Angeles, CA. April 12, 2013 ~ Red Wing/VASQUE and adidas Outdoor has signed on for 2013 to further enhance the programming of Medicines Global Outdoor Youth Ambassadors (MGOYA). MGOYA programs work in collaboration with Los Angeles Unified School District, Los Angeles Police Department, in providing unique educational enrichment combined with wilderness experience programs for Los Angeles youth.
George Curleigh, Vice President, Red Wing/VASQUE explains his passion for these programs, “…from my many years in the Outdoor Industry I have been aware of Medicines Global’s successful international mission of inspiring adventure travelers to give back to the places they visit. We will creatively educate our end users about the global humanitarian mission of Medicines Global and in return, help make this world a healthier more caring place. I am looking forward to following in the footsteps of our former CEO, Bill Sweasy, and to continue to financially support the innovative MG Outdoor Youth Ambassador programs that “Get kids Moving.”
Larry Harrison, US Director of Sales, adidas OUTDOOR, equally confirms their steady beliefs in Medicine’s Global programming. “For more than a decade I have followed Medicines Global’s innovative programs created to encourage adventure travelers to deliver basic first aid supplies to places they visit. Greg Thomsen and I, here at adidas Outdoor, are excited to financially support Medicines Global with their international programs and with their brilliant concept of utilizing local law enforcement to “Get kids Moving” in the wilderness.”
Joining other Medicines Global financial supporters Red Wing/VASQUE & adidas Outdoor have made possible many 2013 MGOYA activities this year:

This month, MGOYA will be providing transportation for the 2013 LAPD Women’s Running Team: Baker to Vegas Relay. “So much of our added success, these last fours years, have been due to the collaborative team work with the LAPD and the LA South Side High Schools – there are no programs quite like this one!” adds Janice Belson.
