WASHINGTON, D.C. – May 18, 2007 – The world’s leading professional mixed martial arts organization, Ultimate Fighting Championship® (UFC®), is bringing excitement and instruction to the show floor at the upcoming SGMA Spring Market (June 11-13, 2007, Sands Convention Center). In addition to autograph sessions by some of the best Ultimate Fighters® in the world including Matt Serra, Matt Hughes, Kenny Florian, Heath Herring, Joe Stevenson, and Diego Sanchez, the UFC Octagonâ„¢ will feature daily exhibitions by the renowned Jiu-Jitsu specialist Mark Laimon. During the show Century LLC, the world’s largest martial arts supplier, will debut a new line of UFC-licensed gear and is bringing the UFC Octagon to the show to underscore the popularity of mixed martial arts with today’s athletes.

“UFC has brought significant international attention to the sport of mixed martial arts,” said Century LLC president Dan Bower. “There is tremendous growth in both participation and in the fan base for the sport, and bringing the UFC Octagon to SGMA Spring Market is the best way to showcase the energy felt by the millions of fans who regularly follow UFC fights and broadcasts. We think there is great potential to capture this fan base in retail outlets across the country and we think buyers will agree when they see the demonstrations, the fighters, and the UFC Octagon in person.”

“We are pleased to be working with Century to create new products featuring the hottest brand in sports today – the UFC,” said Dana White, UFC President. “Fans are telling us they want more UFC products, and we are finding exciting new ways to meet the demand.”

Mixed martial arts (MMA) is an intense and evolving combat sport in which competitors use interdisciplinary forms of fighting that include jiu-jitsu, judo, karate, boxing, kickboxing, wrestling and other styles to their strategic and tactical advantage in a regulated match. UFC raised the profile of MMA through the hit reality television, The Ultimate Fighter®, on Spike TV.

Recently in April 2007, the premier episode of The Ultimate Fighter 5 and UFC® Fight Nightâ„¢ drew more Men 18-49 and Men 18-34 on a busy sports day than The Masters on USA Network and TNT’s NBA coverage featuring the Heat vs. Cavaliers with megastar LeBron James and the Spurs vs. the Suns. Overall, The Ultimate Fighter and UFC Fight Night drew more Men 18-49, Men 18-34, and Men 25-34 than anything else on cable in their respective timeslots.

Over the course of the first two days of SGMA Spring Market, there will be four Mark Laimon Grappling demonstrations – two on Monday, June 11 and two on Tuesday, June 12. Laimon, a renowned black belt, is also highly respected as a UFC fighting coach. In addition, there will be autograph and photo appearances by UFC fighters Matt Hughes, Kenny Florian, Heath Herring on Monday, June 11. Tuesday, June 12, UFC fighters Matt Serra, Joe Stevenson, and Diego Sanchez will make autograph and photo appearances.

Century LLC, a UFC licensee, will debut the UFC equipment line at its booth (#1632) during the Spring Market.
