C.A.M.P. S.p.A., the Italian manufacturer of climbing, mountaineering and safety equipment, is proud to announce the formation of C.A.M.P. USA Inc., its wholly-owned subsidiary headquartered near Boulder, Colorado and established to serve exclusively the U.S. market.
C.A.M.P. has been distributing its products in the United States through a number of different distribution channels since the late 1970’s, most recently through an independent distribution company located in Broomfield, Colorado. By creating its own presence in the U.S. and eliminating third party distribution arrangements, C.A.M.P. believes that it will be better positioned to serve efficiently and effectively the U.S. market.
“This is a great step for us,” says Eddy Codega, worldwide President and CEO of C.A.M.P. “We have been experiencing significant growth in recent years and this was a move we wanted to make to strengthen our position with and signal our continuing commitment to our U.S. customers.”
“We have a global presence and distribute our products in more than 80 countries worldwide. Under the new structure, dealers can expect greater transparency with inventory, stronger ties with the brand, and an even deeper dedication to their success from C.A.M.P. Climbers can expect the same unparalleled innovation and quality they have come to expect from C.A.M.P.” continued Codega.
The U.S. operations will be managed by Jesse Mattner, Director of Sales and Marketing, who carries with him six years of experience with C.A.M.P. “We are experiencing a robust spring sales season and are anticipating great success for the fall and winter seasons as well. Growth is exceeding our expectations with all of our accounts and we are seeing notable traction particularly in areas like carabiners, quickdraws, helmets and harnesses,” remarks Mattner.
C.A.M.P.’s U.S. distributor for the last eight years had been managed by Tommy Knoll. “We want to thank Tommy for his dedication and contribution over the past eight years,” says Codega. “He has been invaluable in guiding the growth of the C.A.M.P. brand in the U.S. market, and his commitment over the years to our brand has been commendable. Our successful transition away from a third party distribution model would not have been so seamless without the substantial efforts of Mr. Knoll. We know Tommy will always be a fan of C.A.M.P., and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”
