Vasque Celebrates Heritage at Winter OR
Booth showcases vintage boots; offers timeless bluegrass from Old North State

Vasque footwear, an industry icon for over 45 years, will showcase their commitment to purpose-built footwear and a history of the brand with a full museum display of heritage boots during Winter Outdoor Retailer and by hosting a benefit event for long-time partner, the American Hiking Society.
As one of the first hiking and mountaineering footwear companies in the United States, Vasque has had the pleasure of working with outdoor industry icons such as Yvon Chouinard, Dick Kelty and Jack Tackle on boot designs and styles. The timeless Vasque Sundowner, iconic hiking boots from the 1970’s with their fat treads and wide red laces, and more will all be available to view in booth 12000 throughout the show.
“We wanted to exhibit to the industry, our continuing dedication to constructing purpose-built footwear for the trail,” says Dave Murphy, COO/President of Vasque footwear. “Many of the industry professionals who are new to the industry are not aware of our history and influence within the outdoor footwear realm.”
In addition to the museum exhibits, on Day 1 of the show, Vasque will hold a happy hour event to support the American Hiking Society, with Old North State, a band it discovered at Appalachian Trail Days last May. Based out of Durango, CO, the brothers of Old North State will play a combination of fast-paced bluegrass and catchy acoustic tunes. For a $5 donation to American Hiking Society, attendees can also enjoy a microbrew in their own Vasque logoed Klean Kanteen reusable stainless steel pint cup. While listening to the band, attendees are encouraged to peruse the Vasque footwear history exhibits that will be on display throughout the booth.
