Vasque Provides Scholarships through the Leadville Trail 100 Legacy Fo

Red Wing, MN – September 1, 2009 – In its first year as a sponsor of the Leadville Trail 100, high-performance outdoor footwear manufacturer, Vasque, has shown that more than grit and determination comes from trail runs. To support the Leadville Trail 100 and provided continually aid to the community, Vasque has donated $2,000 to the Leadville Trail 100 Legacy, which is the charitable arm of the Leadville Trail 100 that gives funds towards the education of the Leadville youth.

Vasque’s donation to the scholarship program reflects a commitment of giving back to the community through the support of families and children’s future. One goal of the Leadville Trail 100 race series is to boost the Leadville area economy through tourism dollars the events generated. In turn, these events generate revenue that goes back into the community, in part through the scholarship program. The Leadville Trail 100 Legacy Scholarship Program provides Leadville students with financial assistance for continuing their education beyond high school. Since the founding of the Legacy Foundation, the organization has already raised over 100k for families in need.
