Vasque Sales Manager wins Ironman XC Switzerland

Vasque is proud to announce Chris Miller, sales manager for the US, competed and won the Ironman 70.3 Executive Challenge (XC) in Switzerland. Approached by the Ironman XC to compete in the race, Miller was proud to represent Vasque and Red Wing Shoe Company with a finishing time of 5:13:28.

The Ironman XC is a program for the world’s top business leaders. It offers business professionals exclusive privileges to Ironman Triathlons while simplifying the race planning process and allowing them time to balance work, family and training.

The location, Rapperswil-Jona, Switzerland offered up a challenging course with cold water temperatures for the swim and hilly ascents for the bike and run portion of the race. The bike portion also afforded breathtaking views of the Swiss Alps and long, fast flats where racers could gain speed.

“The crowd support was amazing,” states Miller. “They were lined up on the hills just like the Tour de France, ringing cowbells and cheering. My ears are still ringing from it.”

With this win in Switzerland, Miller qualified to compete in the World Championship in Kona this Fall where he will be competing against some of the best athletes in the field.
