Red Wing, MN – Each year, the trail town of Damascus, VA rewards Appalachian Trail thru-hikers who have made it to the half-way point of their journey with a three-day ‘Trail Days’ celebration. For the third year in a row, Vasque footwear will take part in this celebration with a free minor boot repair service for thru-hikers, hiking boot giveaways and an opportunity for hikers to record their tales from the trail.
“Vasque specializes in performance footwear for the trail and Trail Days gives us the opportunity to support the hikers and hear stories from those who are putting our footwear to the ultimate test, thru-hiking the 2,200 mile Appalachian Trail,” says Chris Miller, National Sales Director of Vasque.
Thursday and Friday at the Vasque booth, in the manufacturers’ camp, hikers can enter to win a pair of Breeze 2.0 hiking boots. The new Breeze 2.0 boots are designed with the thru-hiker in mind, with a combination of dual density EVA and a newly designed wishbone molded TPU plate midsole that ensures ample torsional stability and comfort for moments when the trail gets tricky. There is also an improved rubber toe cap for added durability at the front of the boot and a lightweight mesh upper for breathability.
In addition to giveaways, Vasque representatives will be on hand at the booth to make minor repairs to thru-hikers’ existing boots and they will also be collecting hikers’ tales from the trail on video to capture the true essence of trail life.
