BOW, NH — Velocio Apparel, a New England-based cycling brand specializing in performance apparel, announced today the launch of a benefit jersey to benefit aid for those suffering through COVID-19 crisis.
Begun in 2017 with the goal of “Making a difference at least in some small way,” Velocio’s Unity project develops a new jersey annually that speaks to a chosen initiative, an issue that requires the world to come together to work for a greater good. 100% of the profits from Unity Jersey sales are donated to charities that embody their mission.
This year’s Unity Jersey is aimed to give aid to those who need it in these times. 100% of the profits from the effort will support three non-profit organizations. Save the Children / No Kid Hungry, Project C.U.R.E. and The Corona Virus Relief Fund, all crucial nonprofits aimed at stemming the impact of the COVID-19 crisis.
Save The Children — With social distancing measures in place, children are losing instruction time, key early education opportunities and meals. Save the Children and their partner, No Kid Hungry, is setting aside grants to support children affected by school closures as a result of COVID-19 mitigation. Unity funds will directly support these efforts.
Project C.U.R.E. — Through the COVID-19 Crisis, Project C.U.R.E. is making resources available to the hospitals and first responders in Denver, Nashville, Phoenix, Houston, Philadelphia, Kansas City, and Chicago. Unity Jersey funds will aid in the donation of masks, gloves, PPE’s and other items needed to fight the COVID19.
Corona Virus Relief Fund — This crisis threatens everyone’s way of life, but it is especially difficult for people who are already vulnerable. Unity funds will support direct action and response to communities with money to support doctor and nurse transportation, masks and PPE, key support in quarantined communities and refugee camps, food for children in schools and more.
The design of this year’s Unity Jersey is inspired by images of Dutch tulip fields taken from above: broad swaths of color so artful and impacting they inspire awe. Yet standing alone in each field, it’s impossible to see the effect of each individual tulip. There’s merely the flower or row of flowers in front of you. The pre-order opens April 2, 2020 and closes May 1, 2020. All preorders are expected to ship by August 1, 2020. Velocio encourages those unable to contribute through the jersey pre-order to consider donating to the charities directly.
