Vice Chairman of Sustainable Fashion Business Consortium Shares Third Generation Business Success at the Prime Source Forum Hong Kong 2013

HONG KONG, 27 March 2013 – Anderson Lee, Vice Chairman of Sustainable Fashion Business Consortium (SFBC) was invited to join an expert panel of speakers to address the topic of ‘Success after Succession – How will the next generation of owners take their family businesses forward?’ at the global fashion industry’s esteemed Prime Source Forum Hong Kong 2013.

Peter Liu, Chairman, Human Capital Committee, American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, and Managing Director of Asianet International Executive Search moderated the ‘Success after Succession’ panel. Amongst Lee, other panel speakers included Janice Wang-Millard, CEO of Alvanon Incorporated; Roger Lee, CEO of the TAL Group and Marissa Maren, Business Development Associate of the Busana Apparel Group.

As a third-generation business successor, Lee also holds many other positions in the industry. He is also the Vice Chairman of the Sustainable Fashion Business Consortium (SFBC); Executive Committee Member/Director of the Hong Kong Intimate Apparel Industries’ Association (HKIAIA); Convener in The Working Group on Innovation and Design of the Fashion Industry Development Committee (FIDC) of the HKSAR Legislative Council; Voting Member for the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (current Board of Directors nominee) (SAC); Sustainability Working Group Voting Member of the Outdoor Industry Association (OIA); Compliance Committee of the Global Apparel, Footwear and Textiles Industry (GAFTI); and International Judge of EcoChic Design Awards 2012 and 2013.

When asked, “What is the key to success for the younger generation?” Lee exclaimed that leadership and passion, along with adaptation and innovation is key to his personal and business development. Lee advocated, “Change should not be implemented for the sake of change, but the embodiment of change. My family’s business has gone through a wide-range of changes, and there are definite reasons why we managed to survive for over half a century. It is through ensuring that core values are shining and being shared with the right partners. In this value adding chain, we are agents that make changes happen. In my case, I found my independent research house, Pinneco Research Limited, to carry on living in this legend my grandfather had fostered.” With great vision and faith in his new research house, Lee’s extensive resume has prepared him well in responding not only to panel questions, but also to the future of the textile industry.

About Prime Source Forum Hong Kong
Prime Source Forum (PSF) does not limit to the sourcing aspect of the supply chain only but sources of information of the fashion industry. Since 2006, it has been held in Hong Kong once a year, bringing together more than 400 senior executives from 20+ countries to discuss the challenges and opportunities that manufacturers, suppliers and retailers are facing in the supply chain of the apparel industry. For this reason, it isa forum and not a conference as delegate involvement is an important element of its success. This international event offers ample opportunity for delegates to network with their peers, mingle with expert panelists and exchange ideas with their peers and competitors alike on issues of mutual interest. From 2012, the profile of PSF has been extended to the fashion industry, which follows discussions with major players in both industries who appreciate the similarities in sourcing opportunities and market development for apparel and footwear practitioners. Other two fashion-related events, which are collocated with PSF, are Manufacturing, Material and Technology, and Fashion Access (www.aplf.com), covering raw material to finished products from head to toe.
