Banff’s Radical Reels is a wildly popular presentation of the festival’s best high-adrenaline films of the year.

Since 2004, the Banff Mountain Film and Book Festival has compiled the festival’s best sweaty-palm adrenaline films into one very popular evening that has come to be known as the “Radical Reels.” This condensed film compilation also tours across the US and Canada, stopping at more than 50 locations. “The Radical Reels Film Tour represents the best-of-the-best when it comes to POV video footage,” said Clint Slack, Marketing Director at V.I.O., “What these guys do is nothing short of mind-blowing—to see the athletes’ perspective is a real treat.”

The Radical Reels program is made up of short, action-packed climbing, paddling, mountain biking, BASE jumping, skiing, snowboarding, and other adrenaline sport films. Criteria to be selected for this elite film group are tough. Says Banff Film Festival: “We always keep an eye out for films that feature a fresh approach, a new sport, and a radically independent spirit.” The 2012 Radical Reels debuted this week in Banff, AB and will be on tour through April 2012.
